California State University Northridge is situated in the heart of the west San Fernando Valley which has a population of 1.6 million.
The Valley is in the northern section of Los Angeles, but is within easy driving distance of the city's attractions. Moreover, an easy two-hour drive provides opportunities for visit to mountain ski areas, beaches, hiking trails, and camping areas, as well as Disneyland, San Diego and Santa Barbara.
CSUN is a 350-acre campus with a population of 35,000 students and 1,200 Faculty, including 79 Fulbright Scholars 335 full-time Professors.
It is one of the largest schools in the California State University System and consists of eight schools - Arts Arts Media and Communications, Business Administration and Economics, Communication Health and Human Development, Education, Engineering and Computer Science, Humanities, Science and Mathematics and Social & Behavioral Sciences. The Oviatt Library is advanced in technology.
Northridge is located in the San Fernando Valley. It is about 20 miles from the beach at Santa Monica and 14 miles from Hollywood. There is a wide variety of entertainment to suit everyone
Students wanting to attend CSU Northridge MUST BE VERY FLEXIBLE WITH THEIR CLASS CHOICE. If a student NEEDS to enroll in a particular course at CSUN to graduate, then they may want to re-think coming to CSUN. It is a much better school choice for students who want to take General Education classes!
