The University of New Mexico is located in Albuquerque, NM, a city of nearly 500,000. It is noted for its dry high desert climate, with warm sunny days and cool crisp nights. The campus lies nearly a mile above sea level on a plateau overlooking the Rio Grande Valley to the West and the Sandia Mountains to the East. You can drive to the following locations in a day: Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, White Sands National Monument, Santa Fe (known for its art and culture), a number of Indian Pueblos, and several snow skiing areas.
Founded in 1889, The University of New Mexico grants degrees at all levels from Associate to Doctoral. The University of New Mexico is the state's largest university with an enrollment of nearly 28,000 students. UNM's architecture is based on the traditional New Mexico Pueblo building style, which is unique and beautiful.
The UNM Campus is located centrally in Albuquerque and only a few miles away from the airport.
Registration occurs for incoming NSE Students after exsisting UNM Students register. Commuting is free on the city bus system, as long as you acquire the bus sticker for your ID Card.
