The University is nestled in the beautiful Ozarks region of Missouri, within driving distance of national forests, lakes, mountain streams, and tourist attractions, including Branson.
The main campus is located on 190 acres in the center of Springfield and is served by an on-campus shuttle bus system and the municipal bus system. The residence halls are modern and computer-equipped, linking students with the University's mainframe and library. Forty-eight departments in six colleges offer over 150 undergraduate majors. Missouri State excels in professional undergraduate teaching with very little instruction done by graduate assistants. Outstanding programs include business administration, ancient studies, history, agriculture, English, music, theatre, dance and many more.
