New York is the fashion capital of the U.S., and Intersession in New York allows students to meet with and see some of the major fashion houses in the industry!
Students are exposed to a wide range of career opportunities in the fashion world through appointments with professionals in the field, such as:
- Textile and apparel designers
- Buying offices
- Trade associations
- Forecasting agencies

Tuition: you must pay tuition and fees for all courses you take through LSU. The tuition and fees you pay are based on whether or not you are a resident of Louisiana.
If you are an out of state student, you will pay out of state tuition and fees for courses taken through LSU, including the course on the Intersession in New York program.
Meals and Spending Money: You should plan to pay for meals and additional expenditures, such as snacks, souvenirs, and outings wth friends. Students are advised to budget $500 for meals.
CourseIn order to participate in the program, you must meet the prerequisites for TAM 3030. Please consult the LSU General Catalog for course description and prerequisites.
Although not a prerequisite of the course, participants are encouraged to complete TAM 2045 before the start of the New York program.
Registering for your course: APA will register you for TAM 3030. Once you fill out and submit your participant agreement and your medical disclosure form through the online study abroad portal, you don't need to do anything else. We will take care of your registration for you. You will be able to see the course on your spring intersession schedule, through myLSU.
Fee bills: Fee bills, which will contain both the tuition/fees for the course and the rest of the program fee, will be available through myLSU in late April and are due in early May (exact dates TBD by the Registrar).

Eligibility & Withdrawal
In order to be eligible for the program, you must:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.3 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate students)
- Be at least 18 years old by the first day of the program
- Not be on disciplinary or scholastic probation
- While not required, students are encouraged to take TAM 2045 prior to enrolling
NOTE: This program is open to students from all disciplines. Qualified applications from other insitutions are also welcome.

Although the application deadline is December 2, you are advised to register early in order to secure a spot in the program. The program will fill on a first come, first served basis from those who meet the eligibility requirements.
Deposit: A $500 deposit will be placed on your LSU billing statement at the time that you apply to the program.
The $500 deposit is nonrefundable after December 2, 2016.
Payment Deadlines: the $500 deposit is put on your billing statement and is due at the time that the charge appears. The rest of the program fee (minus the $500 deposit) and the tuition/fees for the courses will appear on your spring intersession fee bill. Those fee bills are available via myLSU on April 21 and are due on May 3.
If you withdraw from the program: After December 19, you will be responsible for making payments on your study abroad program, even if you do not go on the program. The amount that you will owe is based on the date on which you withdraw. The schedule of payments for withdrawals is:

|Withdrawal after January 13, 2017||$500 deposit and $1,000 payment will be paid|
|Withdrawal after February 10, 2017||$500 deposit and remaining program fee will be paid|
